CELEBRATIONS will be once again in full swing at the Village Green in Mt Eliza on Australia Day, Monday 26 January. A free sausage sizzle and entertainment will be happening from 9:00 AM until 12:30pm. The formal program starts at 10:00 AM with the flag raising conducted by 1st Ranelagh Scouts.
There will be plenty of entertainment both for kids and all the family to have a fun time while celebrating being part of our wonderful community.
Kids will also be able to get up close to wildlife in the hands-on Australian Reptile Show and exhibition – they will be able to interact with spiny-leaf stick insects; frogs; a turtle; bobtail, monitor and dragon lizards; a python; and, even a crocodile! There will also be cute animals in the animal farm and of course, there will be free face painting and the opportunity to chase bubbles.
Kids can inspect the Mount Eliza CFA Fire truck and meet the brave volunteer firefighters, and Rotary Club members will be collecting donations to support communities impacted by the recent, and on-going, Victorian bushfires.
Australia Day on the Village Green is being organised by the Rotary Club of Mt Eliza, assisted by the very generous sponsorship of the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council and the support of Ritchies IGA, the Mt Eliza Community Bank (Bendigo Bank).
