Trees Down Nep Hwy Mt Eliza. A large Pine Tree fell over the Nepean Highway between Mt Eliza Way and Old Mornington Rd, Three cars were damaged but luckily nobody was hurt. CFA, SES and Police attended. The driver of a van who was delivering one of his magazines the "Mornington Peninsula Magazine" was very lucky, if he had a passenger in the van things might not have turned out as well. One of the branches smashed the windscreen and a large branch went through the van into the rear compartment. Another woman had a baby in a child seat and the car was damaged but nobody was hurt. There was a third and maybe a fourth car that was damaged. Traffic was held up at the start but then the traffic was diverted as the Nepean Highway was closed off until the tree could be cleared. The driver of the van is Archie I will send through details later, he said he started Pearl Magazine.
