HOMICIDE Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Hastings, Sunday night, 5 May.

It is believed two neighbours were involved in an argument at a house on Salmon Street when one, aged 43, was allegedly stabbed with a serrated edged weapon.

Emergency services were called to the house about 7.45pm. They placed the injured man in an ambulance, but he died on the way to hospital.

Detectives on Monday were interviewing a man, 46, who was arrested at the scene and taken to Frankston CIU. A woman seen speaking to police at the scene left with officers in the passenger seat of a police car.

Forensic police had cordoned off three properties and marked two spots on the footpath out front for detailed examination.

A man and a woman, both visibly upset, spent some time outside the house Monday morning.

The investigation is said to be ongoing.
