Peninsula Health Frankston is one of 19 testing sites for COVID-19 around Victoria, but medical experts are urging people to only present for testing if they meet the criteria for COVID-19 infection.

Federal Health Minster, Greg Hunt, released a statement today that said:

“In terms of the national health response, Australia has undertaken 81,000 tests for coronavirus, of which 99.5 per cent of tests have shown to be negative. In addition, we have secured a further 97,000 test kits, the first half of which arrived in the country late last night and will be distributed today. This ensures we have and will continue to have one of the highest testing rates in the world”.

Meanwhile, Peninsula Health have put strategies in place to contain the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus).

All visitors are asked to take note of our new Visitor Guidelines, across all Peninsula Health sites, effective from Wednesday 18 March.

• One (1) visitor per patient at any one time
• Visiting hours are 4PM to 8PM (except Maternity and Paediatrics)
• No visitors under 16 years of age
• Visitors feeling unwell are not permitted
• If you are collecting your loved one, please wait outside the building
• Exceptions to visiting rules will apply in special circumstances – speak with the patient’s healthcare team
• You are not permitted to visit if you have returned from overseas in the past 14 days
