A TEENAGE girl was assisted by police, paramedics, Hastings SES and Mornington FRV crews after falling onto rocks at Mornington pier on Saturday night, 27 November.

The girl is believed to have been fishing with her carer when she fell about two metres and injured her knee and ankle, telling rescuers she “couldn’t move”.

The crews rushed to the scene about 10pm concerned a rising tide may hamper rescue efforts. They spent more than an hour treating the girl on the rocks while others waited above to lift her up over the wall and into a waiting ambulance. She was taken to Frankston Hospital with lower leg injuries and on Monday was in a stable condition.
