RENOWNED violinist Jonathon Glonek will play on the Mornington Peninsula at the Eldridge Estate in Red Hill on 7 May as he and his fellow musicians embark on a tour to bring classical music back to the people.

Glonek says classical music belongs to everybody, young and old, and he is encouraging music lovers to “bring their children along”.

“We often see older people going to concerts, but there are younger audiences that should be exposed to this kind of music,” he said.

“They can really enjoy and appreciate this kind of music.”

Glonek is bringing classical music to regional towns across Australia and believes access to the art form is the key spreading the joy.

He established The Bendoc Philharmonic, which has toured extensively, including regional South Australia and Victoria and a concert at the world heritage-listed Naracoorte Caves alongside violist Heidi Von Bernewitz.

Glonek’s current project is a thousand-date tour involving 362 venues across Australia. He will perform with fellow artists Heidi Von Bernewitz (viola) and Robert Ekselman (cello).

The Eldridge Estate performance is limited to 30 seats and bookings are online at trybooking.com/CHIVW.
