SOMERVILLE Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that left a vehicle on its roof in Mornington on 27 April.

It is believed a small sedan and 4WD collided at the intersection of Nepean Highway and Wilsons Road just after 5.30pm.

The collision caused the 4WD to veer off the road and hit a tree before flipping onto its roof.

The driver of the 4WD, a 55-year-old Mount Martha man, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

His two male passengers were not injured.

The driver of the sedan, a 36-year-old Fingal woman has been issued an infringement notice for failing to give way.
