Armed Crime Squad detectives are investigating a serious assault in Rosebud West yesterday (4 April) evening.

It is believed a car containing an unknown number of people arrived at a property in the vicinity of Kingfisher Road, Rosebud West about 7pm.

A dispute arose in the street between two parties, which resulted in one man receiving serious injuries, including lacerations and severed fingers.

The injured man was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition and is yet to be spoken to by police.

A second man attended a medical clinic in Rosebud with a wound to his leg, believed to be a gunshot wound, as a result of the same incident.

He was advised to attend a hospital for treatment but declined an ambulance and left the clinic.

Police wish to speak to the driver of a dark coloured Commodore seen at the incident to assist with their enquiries.

It is believed at this stage all parties are known to each other.

No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
