Police investigate Capel Sound firearms incident

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged firearms incident which occurred in Capel Sound this morning.

Emergency services were called to the vicinity of Woodthorpe Road and Point Nepean Road about 2.55am after reports of gunfire.

The area was patrolled and a man, believed to be in his 20s, was located in the street with a suspected gunshot wounds to his legs.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police have patrolled the area but at this stage no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
