Police from Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula have arrested five people, Tuesday 29 January, in relation to a number of alleged vehicle crime offences as part of Operation Night Eagle

Detectives from Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit executed two search warrants in Hastings following an ongoing investigation into vehicle crime and drug-related offending.

Detectives arrested four people at a property on Curlew Court, Hastings.

This includes:

• 34-year-old man of no fixed address

• 29-year-old man from Hastings

• 31-year-old woman from Hastings

• 16-year-old boy from Hastings

Police also seized a pen pistol, drugs and cash from the Curlew Court property.

All four were taken to a nearby police station to be interviewed by investigators.

Officers also arrested a 17-year-old boy in relation to an alleged attempted aggravated burglary in Frankston South.

It is believed the boy was trying to break into a property on McCoomb Avenue about 6.15am when he was disturbed by the home owner’s dog.

Police were called and quickly arrested the boy who was also found to be in possession of allegedly stolen property.

This is believed to be linked to a theft from motor vehicle incident on Norman Street, Frankston South which occurred overnight.

The 17-year-old boy has been transported to hospital where he remains under police guard.

These arrests are part of Operation Night Eagle, which is one of three localised vehicle crime operations running in Melbourne’s south east.

Night Eagle is an ongoing operation and police will continue to focus resources where they’re most needed.
