PORTSEA has been named a finalist in the 2026 Top Tourism Town Awards.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Acting Mayor Cr Paul Pingiaro said being named a finalist in the Tiny Town category is a wonderful achievement.
“We’re encouraging everyone – community, visitors, businesses from near and far to get behind Portsea and help showcase the Mornington Peninsula at a state level through public voting,” Cr Pingiaro said.
Nepean Ward Cr Andrea Allen said it’s a great opportunity to inspire people to rediscover Portsea and support the region by voting.
“These awards are about celebrating the experiences, landscapes and stories that make the southern end of the Peninsula so special, like our iconic Portsea Pub and the golf club which is celebrating it’s centenary this year,” Cr Allen said. Portsea blends striking coastal scenery, rich history and easy-going village charm, making it one of our Peninsula’s most rewarding and most unexpected escapes. It offers wild ocean beaches, calm bay waters, historic landmarks and a village feel that invites you to slow down and stay a little longer.
Point Nepean National Park and its historic Quarantine Station draw walkers, cyclists and history lovers. Coastal trails, marine adventures, exploration above and below the surface, cosy cafes and a village full of hidden gems give visitors plenty of reasons to return.
The campaign invites locals and visitors to rediscover the unexpected side of Portsea and support the town.
Public voting plays a key role in determining the outcome with voting open from Friday 29 May to Friday 26 June 2026.
