MEN’S DIV ONE SEN
LANGWARRIN suffered an unexpected loss at the hands of Devon Meadows on Saturday (25 July).
The Panthers took the lead in the first quarter after scoring two more points then the Kangaroos, ending up on 3.2 to the Kangaroos’ 3.0.
The quarter before the long break saw both teams constantly stealing the lead from each other, but resulted in Devon Meadows leading by seven points.
Langwarrin began to fall behind in the third quarter, scoring 2.1 to Devon Meadows’ 4.3.
In the fourth, the Panthers were able to score 2.3, making their final score 88 points. The Kangaroos only managed 1.3, leaving them on 61 points, handing the Panthers a 27 point win.
Dromana used their home ground advantage to secure a win against Edithvale-Aspendale.
The scores were close in the first quarter, with the Tigers leading by four points after scoring 2.5 to the Eagles’ 2.1.
Dromana started to run away with the game in the second quarter after scoring 5.2 to Edi-Asp’s 2.0, leaving 24 points separating the teams.
In the third, the Eagles lost more ground to the Tigers, only scoring 2.3 to Dromana’s 6.3.
The final quarter saw an Edi-Asp fightback, scoring 5.2 to Dromana’s 3.4, but it was too little, too late.
The final score was 16.14 (110) to 11.6 (72) in favour of Dromana.
Jake Aarts scored three goals for Dromana. Kyle Yorke scored four goals for Edi-Asp.
Rosebud remain on top of the ladder after their win against Frankston YCW.
The ’Buds came out of the gates strongly, taking a quick lead of 19 points after scoring 4.3 to the Stonecats’ 1.2.
Frankston YCW had a great comeback in the second quarter, scoring 4.2 to Rosebud’s 1.4, which left Frankston YCW trailing by only three points.
Despite the efforts from the Stonecats in the previous quarter, the ’Buds took control of the third quarter, scoring 4.2 to the Stonecats’ 2.2.
Rosebud pulled away in the final quarter, scoring 28 points and making their final score 91 points. Unfortunately, Frankston YCW only scored 18 points, making their total 66 points and leaving Rosebud to win by 25 points.
Brenton Lambert scored three goals for Frankston YCW. Kirk Dickson scored three goals for Rosebud.
Despite losing majority of the first half of the game, Sorrento came back and were able to win against Mt Eliza.
Only one goal separated the teams in the first quarter, with the Redlegs scoring 3.1 to the Sharks’ 2.1.
Sorrento momentarily took the lead in the second quarter before Mt Eliza took it back, leading by only three points.
The Sharks began to find their rhythm in the third quarter after scoring 5.2 to the Redlegs’ 2.4.
In the fourth quarter, Sorrento were able to maintain their lead and win the game by one goal, with their final score being 10.14 (74) to Mt Eliza’s 10.8 (68).
Pines claimed their second win of the 2026 season after beating Mornington.
In the first quarter, the Pythons struck quick and were able to take the lead, scoring 4.3 to the Bulldogs’ 3.3.
The Bulldogs were only able to score two points in the second quarter, while the Pythons scored 14 points.
In the third, Pines were able to score 1.3 to Mornington’s 1.2.
Pines were able to finally secure their win in the final quarter after scoring 4.5 to Mornington’s 2.1. The scores when the siren sounded for the last time were 11.13 (79) to Pines and 6.8 (44) to Mornington, leaving Pines victors by 35 points.
MEN’S DIV TWO SEN
SOMERVILLE suffered an unexpected loss at their home ground against the Frankston Bombers.
The scores were close in the first quarter, with the Bombers leading by three points after scoring 2.6 to Somerville’s 2.3.
The Bombers did not allow Somerville much leeway in the second quarter, only conceding four points while scoring 3.2 themselves.
Somerville were unable to score at all in the third while the Bombers continued to climb, scoring a further 3.6.
In the final quarter, Somerville went on a frenzy, scoring 6.4 to the Bombers’ 3.0. The Bombers were still able to come out victorious though, with their final score being 11.14 (80) to Somerville’s 8.11 (59), giving the Bombers the win by 21 points.
Travis Finn scored two goals for Somerville. Matt Robinson scored five goals for Frankston Bombers.
Bonbeach bested Karingal in their game at Bonbeach’s home ground.
In the first quarter, Karingal were unable to score at all while Bonbeach scored 3.4.
Karingal were able to put a score on the board in the second quarter, scoring 1.1 to Bonbeach’s 6.3, leaving a 54-point gap between the teams in Bonbeach’s favour.
Bonbeach continued to climb in the third, holding Karingal at seven point total while scoring a further 4.8 themselves, placing them at a 93-point advantage.
In the final quarter, Karingal were able to score 1.5, making their final score 18 points. Bonbeach added another 3.4, leaving the final scores at 16.19 (115) to 2.6 (18).
Bonbeach’s captain Liam Hulett had an outstanding performance and scored seven goals.
Chelsea remain on top of the ladder after beating Tyabb.
In a shock first quarter, bottom of the table Tyabb took charge of the game and scored 4.1 to Chelsea’s 3.3, leaving Tyabb ahead by four points.
Chelsea claimed the lead in the second quarter after scoring 6.2 to Tyabb’s 1.4, leaving a 24 point gap between the teams.
In the third, Chelsea continued to climb, scoring 6.2 to Tyabb’s 2.0.
In the final quarter, Tyabb were only able to score two points, making their final score 7.7 (49). Chelsea dominated the final quarter of the game, scoring 7.6 making their final score 22.13 (145), giving them the chocolates by a margin of 96 points.
Red Hill secured a win at their home ground against Crib Point.
The Magpies were unable to score in the first quarter, leaving Red Hill to take an early lead of 51 points after scoring 7.9.
The second quarter saw Crib Point score 0.2 to Red Hill’s 4.4, leaving 77 points separated the teams at the long break.
Crib Point were able to score their first goal of the game in the third quarter, scoring 1.1 while Red Hill scored a further 6.6.
In a turn of events, Crib Point won the final quarter after scoring 5.5, leaving their final score at 6.8 (44).
Red Hill only scored one goal in the last quarter which left their final score at 18.19 (127), giving them the win by 83 points.
Seaford secured a win against Hastings.
Seaford took an early lead after scoring 4.6 in the first quarter while shutting down Hastings completely and not allowing them to put a score on the board.
In the second quarter, Seaford continued to dominate the game, scoring 5.1 to Hastings’ 0.4, leaving Seaford to lead by 57 points.
Seaford continued to control the game in the third quarter, scoring 5.3 to Hastings’ 0.2.
The Blues were able to win the final quarter of the game, scoring three goals to Seaford’s 2.2. This resulted in Seaford, scoring 16.12 (108), beating Hastings, scoring 3.6 (24). A win for Seaford by 84 points.
Pearcedale had a strong win against Rye.
The first quarter was very close, with Pearcedale leading by only one point after scoring 3.3 to Rye’s 3.2.
Pearcedale began to crawl into the lead in the quarter before the long break after scoring 4.6 to the Demons’ 1.1, leaving a 24-point gap between the teams.
In the third quarter, Pearcedale scored 7.5 to Rye’s 1.1.
Rye were able to win the final quarter after scoring 3.5, making their final score 57 points. Pearcedale scored 2.2 in the final quarter, making their final score 16.16 (112) to 8.9 (57), giving Pearcedale the win by 55 points.
Cruiz West scored four goals for Pearcedale. Taj Campbell Farrell scored four goals for Rye.
WOMEN’S DIV ONE SEN
MORNINGTON secured a win at their home ground against Bonbeach.
The Bulldogs took control of the game from the first bounce, not allowing Bonbeach to score at all in the first three quarters of the game.
In the first quarter, Mornington were able to score 5.4.
The Bulldogs went into the long break with 57 points after scoring 3.5 in the second.
The third quarter had Mornington scoring 7.2.
Bonbeach were finally able to score one goal in the final quarter, while Mornington scored a further 4.7.
The final scores were 19.18 (132) to 1.0 (6).
Eliza Snehotta scored five goals for Mornington.
Hastings/Balnarring were able to beat Pearcedale by four points in their low-scoring clash, with Hastings notching 2.11 (23) to Pearcedale’s 3.1 (19). Inaccuracy in front of the big sticks prevented Hastings/Balnarring getting a bigger win.
Karingal took an incredible win against Tyabb after scoring 155 points to Tyabb’s six points, leaving Karingal victors by 149 points.
Tyabb were run ragged all day, and their only score, a major, came in the third quarter.
The win leaves Karingal sitting third by percentage behind Mornington.
The final game for the round was at home for Warragul which saw the Dusties take the win against Frankston.
The game showed the continued dominance of the Dusties, as they outplayed Frankston all day, despite the Dolphins only having lost four games for the season coming into the clash.
Warragul kept Frankston goalless until the final term, when they slotted one.
The final scores were 7.4 (46) for Warragul to 1.2 (8) for Frankston.
With finals beginning next week, Warragul have clinched the minor premiership with an unblemished record for the regular season.
