MEN’S DIV ONE SEN
ROSEBUD have continued their 2026 dominance with another win last weekend, this time against Mornington.
The ’Buds made their intentions clear from the first bounce with a rampaging first quarter that saw 14 scoring shots to three. If it wasn’t for inaccuracy, they would have been much further ahead after slotting 4.10 to take a 26-point lead into the first break.
The Bulldogs found some form in the second, slotting six straight goals, which would have been impressive but for Rosebud’s 6.5 that saw them pull out to a 31-point lead at half time.
The third quarter was when Rosebud really put Mornington to the sword, kicking 10 goals to Mornington’s two majors, taking an 84-point margin into the final quarter.
The final term saw Mornington kick five goals to Rosebud’s four and clawing the margin back a little to hit the showers with a 73-point deficit.
The final scores were 24.22 (166) to 14.9 (93). Rosebud had 12 separate goal kickers, with Blake Kuipers topping the list with five and Kirk Dickson kicking four. Matt Caine was the best in front of goal for Mornington with four.
Mt Eliza played out a thrilling draw in front of their home crowd against Dromana.
The Tigers were the first out of the blocks in the first quarter slotting three majors to a single goal from the Redlegs do go into the quarter-time break with a 14-point margin.
Mt Eliza fought back effectively in the second, kicking five goals, and keeping Dromana to two, to grab a three-point lead going into the long break.
Both teams kicked four goals in the third quarter but a few more minor scores from Dromana saw the Tigers pull level to see both sides on 55-points at the final break.
A thrilling final quarter saw the lead change five time, with Dromana two points down with only minutes to spare. Two final points from the Tigers saw them pull level, where the final siren sounded.
Inaccuracy in front of goal cost Dromana the game, with their score of 11.10 (76) compared to Mt Eliza’s 12.4 (76).
Ziggy Toledo kicked three for Mt Eliza and Sam Fowler and Ethan Johnstone kicked three each for Dromana. Josh Geurts, Toby Geurts, Jai Taylor, Nick Collier and Sam Geurts were among Dromana’s best.
Despite losing for the first three quarters, Devon Meadows were able to come back and best Pines.
In the first quarter, the Panthers were unable to score while the Pythons struck quickly, scoring 4.5.
Devon Meadows won the second quarter but were still unable to get into the lead after scoring 2.7 to Pines’ 1.2, leaving Pines up by 18.
The Pythons scored a further 2.1 in the third quarter while the Panthers scored 3.1.
In the final quarter, Devon Meadows were finally able to claim the lead after scoring 5.7 to Pines’ 2.0. This resulted in Devon Meadows (10.15) securing their win against Pines (9.8).
Langwarrin secured a win against Frankston YCW.
The scores were very close in the first quarter, with the Kangaroos leading by three points after scoring 3.4 to the Stonecats’ 3.1.
The Kangaroos jumped ahead in the second quarter after scoring 7.6 to Frankston YCW’s 2.1, leaving Langwarrin ahead by 38 points.
In the third, the Kangaroos scored 3.3 to the Stonecats’ 5.2.
Langwarrin pulled away in the final quarter after scoring 4.3 to Frankston YCW’s 3.6, leaving Langwarrin (17.16) to beat Frankston YCW (13.10) by 30 points.
Matthew Johnson scored an outstanding nine goals for Langwarrin. Christian Tsiampas and Patrick Bloink each scored three goals for Frankston YCW.
Edi-Asp had a strong win against Sorrento.
The Eagles immediately flew into the lead, scoring 13.13 in the first quarter to the Sharks’ 5.6.
In the second quarter, the Eagles continued to glide ahead steadily, scoring a further 5.5 to Sorrento’s 3.1, leaving the Eagles ahead by 71 points.
Sorrento won the third quarter by scoring 5.5 to Edi-Asp’s 3.3.
When the final siren sounded, Edi-Asp (21.21) had the win over Sorrento (13.12) to the tune of 57 points.
MEN’S DIV TWO SEN
LADDER leaders Chelsea’s strength shone through on Saturday with a commanding win against Pearcedale.
The Seagulls were not wasting any time in the first quarter, kicking six goals to two to go into the first break with a 26-point lead.
The Panthers had no answers in the second quarter only managing 1.4 to Chelsea’s 3.4, seeing the Seagulls extend their lead to 38-points at the main break.
Things went from bad to worse in the third with Pearcedale only putting on one major while Chelsea slammed on another five to take a 62-point margin into the final break.
The chocolates were never on the line in the final term, but Pearcedale did claw back a little honour with four goals to one to narrow the margin to 46-points at the final siren.
The final results were 15.12 (102) to 8.8 (56). Sean Downie and Jack Wallace kicked three each for Chelsea and were among Chelsea’s best, while Robbie Arnott, Luke Settineri, Huw Jones, Ethan Vagg, and Kye Harris were the best for Pearcedale.
Second on the ladder Somerville showed they mean business with a commanding win over struggling Karingal.
The Bulls have only notched two wins for the season and sit second from the bottom, so were always going to struggle against Somerville.
The first quarter saw ten scoring shots to three in favour of Somerville, with only inaccuracy in front of the big sticks limiting them to just a 17-point margin at the first break.
Somerville found their accuracy in the second, scoring 5.1 to Karingal’s 2.4 to push the half time margin out to 32-points.
The third quarter saw Somerville dish out some savage football, holding Karingal to a solitary point for the term while nearly doubling their own score with 9.4 added to their tally. Their margin had rocketed out to 88-points by three-quarter time.
The final quarter was fairly pedestrian, with Somerville players wondering what was for tea as they slotted a couple more and kept Karingal to a single goal.
The final margin was 101-points in favour of the Eagles, 20.17 (137) to 5.6 (36). Lachlan Williams, Luke Burton and Lachlan Sharp kicked three goals each and Harley Callahan and Oscar Hanson kicked two goals each for the Bulls.
It was another tough day at the office for Tyabb on Saturday, still winless for 2026 after another defeat against Seaford.
A five goal to one haul in the first quarter saw the Tigers take a strong early lead against the Yabbies, taking a 23-point margin into the first break.
The margin was still 23-points at half time with both teams kicking 4.2 in the second quarter.
In the third, Seaford kept Tyabb to a single point while putting on 6.5 themselves to stretch the margin at three-quarter time out to 63-points.
In the final term, Seaford put another three majors on the board to a single goal from Tyabb. Coupled with a few minor scores for each team the final margin ended up at 74-points.
Brodie Scully kicked five for Seaford and was among their best. Tyabb’s Jude Morley kicked half his team’s goals with three majors to his name.
Bonbeach bested Crib Point with a 47-point win.
The Sharks got out of the blocks too quickly for Crib Point, kicking seven majors to one in the first term to have a 36-point lead over the Magpies at the first break.
Crib Point managed to reduce the margin a little during the second quarter, kicking 4.4 to Bonbeach’s four straight goals; a 32-point margin in favour of Bonbeach at the main break.
The Sharks stretched the margin back out in the third quarter, kicking three majors to the Magpies’ two, and holding a 40-point lead at the final break.
Both teams scored freely in the final term with Crib Point putting on five goals to Bonbeach’s six, leaving the Sharks with a 47-point lead at the final siren, 20.9 (129) to 12.10 (82).
Bonbeach’s captain Liam Hulett was the stand-out of the game, kicking seven goals.
Frankston Bombers had a strong win at home against Red Hill.
The Bombers got the jump on Red Hill, kicking 4.1 to 0.3 in the first term to hold a comfortable 22-point lead at the first break.
Red Hill came storming back in the second term, kicking five goals to one, pulling level in the 25th minute and hitting the lead with a goal in the 27th minute to hold a six point advantage at the half time break.
By the fifth minute of the third quarter, Frankston had pulled back even, and before long were pulling ahead of Red Hill. Sixteen points separated the teams at the third-quarter time break.
Red Hill never got another chance. The Bombers slotted four more majors to Red Hill’s two, to leave the final margin at 30 points in Frankston’s favour, 13.6 (84) to 7.12 (54).
Matt Robinson kicked seven for the Bombers, his biggest haul for the year.
Hastings got out of the blocks strongly against Rye and despite having one less scoring shot, ended up four points up at quarter time.
Rye managed to get their noses in front by a point at half time, but would have been much further ahead, but for wayward kicking, sitting at 4.11 to Hastings’ 5.4 at the long break.
The Blue managed five goals in the third quarter to again take the lead at three quarter time by three points, with the lead changing four times during the term.
The Demons headed into the final term like a team possessed, laying on 5.4, and leaving the Hastings’ team managers trying to get hold of a young priest and an old priest. They could only manage 2.2 themselves, and ended the game 17 points behind, the final scores being 13.18 (96) to the Demons and 12.7 (79) to Hastings.
Edward Greene kicked three goals for Rye and Thomas Muscillo kicked five for Hastings.
