A man has been charged after allegedly driving double the speed limit and evading officers in Chelsea Heights early Saturday morning. Moorabbin Highway Patrol officers spotted a silver Volkswagen Passat allegedly travelling at a fast rate of speed north along Mornington Peninsula Freeway about 2.10am. It is alleged the vehicle, with five people onboard, was detected at 200km/h in a 100km/h zone. Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle which allegedly evaded police, continuing to drive before coming to a stop on Springvale Road in Braeside.
