CRIB Point’s volunteer firefighters gathered on 15 November to celebrate a major milestone of 75 years of service to their community. The anniversary event brought together members from across the decades to share stories, reconnect, and acknowledge the brigade’s evolution. The unit traces its origins back to 1950, when locals met at the Buff’s Hall to establish a formal firefighting presence for their growing township. From that small meeting, the brigade steadily developed into an essential pillar of community safety. A PLANNED road and drainage upgrade project in Crib Point has blown out by at least $1m – and costs could keep rising as unresolved issues with property owners and authorities delay progress.The Mornington Peninsula Shire originally budgeted for $795,000 to undertake the works at Creswell St (stopping at Denman St) and Cooma St in Crib Point which were rezoned from industrial to residential in 2019. Frankston Sexual Offences & Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives have arrested and charged a male in relation to four alleged separate sexual assault incidents, across the Mornington Peninsula, during January and February. The first incident occurred on The Boulevard in Somers on 22 January about 10.30am. The second incident occurred on Tasman Road in Somers on 31 January about 6.10pm.
