STUDENTS from Mount Martha Primary School helped plant 550 trees at The Briars on Friday 24 July, ahead of National Tree Day, as part of an ongoing partnership with Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation. THE 30th annual National Tree Day is coming up on Sunday 26 July. All across Australia, people will be joining together to connect with nature and care for Country by planting trees and revegetating important areas that will help wildlife and nature to thrive. VOLUNTEERS at the Sunshine Reserve Conservation Group have been rolling up their sleeves and getting to work ahead of this year’s National Tree Day on 27 July. The reserve at Mt Martha is a pocket of natural bushland with volunteers passionate about preserving it and seeing indigenous flora and fauna thrive.Volunteers have been busy weeding out invasive plants and preparing for tree planting sessions for National Tree Day.
