A 17-year-old boy has died in hospital after being hit by a car in Dromana earlier this month.

It is believed the cyclist was travelling west on Nepean Highway just after midday on 17 June when he was struck by a vehicle turning from Pondorosa Place.

The cyclist was thrown from his bike and the vehicle stopped nearby the scene.

The 17-year-old cyclist from Mount Martha was airlifted to The Alfred hospital with serious injuries where he remains.

Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have seen the bicycle or the white Ford ute.
