Man drowns at Bushrangers Bay beach

A man has drowned while swimming at Bushrangers Bay Beach near Cape Schanck this afternoon.

The man was with a friend when they both got into trouble about 5pm.

Police and emergency services located the male in the water about 6.30pm.

Attempts were made to resuscitate the man however he died at the scene.

The female swimmer made it back to shore safely.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
