LIFE Saving Victoria has confirmed four sharks were spotted at an unpatrolled section of Sorrento front beach on Sunday.

A siren was sounded to alert beachgoers, but it is believed there were no swimmers there at the time.

It was the second shark report in one week, after a two metre shark was spotted off Fishermans Beach, Mornington on Friday.

Life Saving Victoria has reminded swimmers to swim between the flags on patrolled beaches and avoid entering the water after dusk or before dawn.
