THE Two Bays Snapper Challenge, Victoria’s biggest fishing competition, is back for another year.
Based in Frankston, the competition involves chasing snapper across Port Phillip Bay and Western Port.
The community event is hosted by the Frankston Bombers Football Netball Club with the presentation event held at the Frankston Bombers FNC clubrooms in Baxter.
The organisers expect over 700 anglers will fish the competition this year, with entrants travelling from far and wide.
At the presentation event there will be fishing gear pop up stores, boats, outboard motors, marine safety, dolphin research and local marina displays.
Champion anglers will share in about $30,000 in prizes over five different divisions.
Those not lucky enough to land a trophy snapper will still have the chance to win a random lucky draw prize, just for being in the event.
The lucky draw prize pool is valued over $40,000 including a boat/motor/trailer package worth $22,500.
The competition runs from 30 October until 7 November.
The presentation event will be held on Sunday 8 November.
