MEN’S DIV TWO SEN
WITH a bye round for Division One men’s footy, all eyes were on Div Two on the weekend.
Despite having home ground advantage, Bonbeach was not able to best Chelsea, allowing the latter to remain on top of the ladder.
Chelsea took the lead in the first quarter, scoring 4.2 to Bonbeach’s 2.1.
In the second, Chelsea created an even larger divide between them and Bonbeach by scoring 5.3 to Bonbeach’s 1.2, leaving the teams separated by 38 points.
Bonbeach had their largest scoring quarter in the third quarter, scoring 2.2 to Chelsea’s 5.4.
In the final quarter, Bonbeach were unable to put a goal on the board, instead scoring five minors, while Chelsea scored 2.3. When the final siren sounded, Chelsea were up by 68-points.
Somerville secured a fairly easy win over Crib Point.
The Magpies had a very slow start to the game, only scoring two points in the first quarter while Somerville started strongly, scoring 4.4 and leading by 26 points at the first break.
In the second, Crib Point continued on the same trajectory, adding a further two points to their score while Somerville added a further 3.3.
The third quarter was the final quarter in which either team were able to score, with Somerville scoring 5.8 and Crib Point scoring 4.4.
In the fourth quarter, neither team was able to score at all, which resulted in Somerville wining by 55 points.
Lachlan Williams scored four goals for Somerville. Archie Shepherd and Kane Tyrrell each scored two goals for Crib Point.
Frankston Bombers were able to take a win against Seaford despite going in as the underdogs.
In the first quarter the Bombers came out strongly, scoring 4.2 to Seaford’s 2.2.
The Bombers began to fly ahead in the quarter before the long break, scoring 7.4 to Seaford’s three points and going into the second half leading by 55 points.
Seaford were able to win the third quarter after the Bombers only scored two points to Seaford’s 4.2.
In the final quarter, the Bombers only managed to score 1.2 while Seaford scored 3.4, but the Bombers were still able to take a 17 point win.
Pearcedale secured a win at their home ground against Hastings.
Hastings were let down in the first quarter by their scoring inaccuracy, scoring 0.5 to Pearcedale’s 2.4.
In the second, Pearcedale began to climb ahead of Hastings, scoring 5.8 to Hastings’ 2.0 and leaving the teams separated by 37 points.
Hastings struggled to score in the third quarter, only managing three points while Pearcedale put on 6.2.
In the final quarter, both teams added 3.3, leaving Pearcedale winning by 72 points. It was the seventh win in a row for Pearcedale and they look threatening at fifth on the ladder.
Rye were able to take on and beat Tyabb in their clash.
In the first quarter, Rye scored 4.1 to Tyabb’s 2.2.
Rye began to pull away in the quarter before the long break after scoring 5.4 to Tyabb’s 2.1, separating the teams by 32 points.
In the third, Tyabb scored a further 1.1 while Rye were able to score 2.5.
Tyabb were able to win the final quarter after scoring 4.4 to Rye’s single goal, but Rye were still able to win the game by 20 points.
Karingal’s home ground advantage was not utilised, as they still suffered a loss at the hands of Red Hill.
Karingal were able to score a single goal in the first quarter to Red Hill’s 2.4.
In the second, Karingal scored 3.1 to Red Hill’s 2.2, leaving Red Hill ahead by a mere five points going into half time.
Red Hill scored 3.5 to Karingal’s single goal in the third quarter, creating a larger separation between the teams.
In the final quarter, Red Hill scored 4.7 to Karingal’s one goal, leaving Red Hill to win by 47 points.
Oscar Hanson scored two goals for Karingal. Thomas Lewis was able to score four goals for Red Hill.

WOMEN’S DIV ONE SEN
KARINGAL has dropped down to fourth on the ladder after their second week in a row of losses, this time at the hands of Frankston.
The teams were only separated by five points at the end of the first quarter, as Karingal scored 1.0 to Frankston’s 1.5.
Karingal were unable to score in the second, while Frankston scored 2.3, leaving them ahead by 20 points at the long break.
Frankston’s scoring inaccuracy became an issue in the third quarter after they scored a further four points, making their total score 3.12. In comparison, Karingal scored one goal, leaving their total score as 2.0.
In the final quarter, Frankston managed to score a further two points while Karingal scored 1.3, leaving Frankston to win by 11 points.
Mornington secured their tenth win of the season by besting Hastings/Balnarring.
In the first quarter, Mornington doubled Hastings/Balnarring’s score, with the latter scoring 1.1 and Mornington scoring 2.2.
Hastings/Balnarring were unable to score in the second quarter while Mornington continued to progress, scoring 2.4 and leaving the teams separated by 23 points.
Mornington’s score continued to climb in the third after they scored 4.2 to Hastings/Balnarring’s 1.2.
In the final quarter, Hastings/Balnarring were able to score one goal while Mornington scored 1.4, leaving Mornington to win by 45 points.
Tenae Browne scored an excellent five goals for Mornington. Diane King was able to score two goals for Hastings/Balnarring.
In a very low scoring game, Bonbeach were able to get the better of Tyabb.
In the first quarter, neither team managed to put a score on the board.
The second, Bonbeach scored two points, while Tyabb were still unable to put any score on the board.
In the third quarter, Bonbeach scored a further two minors while Tyabb still remained scoreless.
Bonbeach scored a further three points in the final quarter while Tyabb were unable to score, leaving Bonbeach to win by seven.
Warragul Industrials put Pearcedale to the sword on Sunday (5 July) in a ruthless display of dominance.
The unbeaten Dusties kept Pearcedale scoreless all day, pumping on 53 points in the first quarter, and another 30 points in the second to be 83-points up at the long break.
In the second half, Warragul continued to dominate and when the final siren sounded, were on 18.17 (125) to Pearcedale’s blank sheet.
Remy Ferguson was the highest scorer for Warrgul with six goals, and Regan Malady managed three.
Next week sees first and second on the ladder, Mornington and Warrgul, face off in a true test of the Dusties’ dominance.
