MEN’S DIV ONE SEN
IN the second round of finals, Rosebud were able to secure a win against Dromana after a close game.
The game begun with the Tigers taking the lead after scoring 2.1 to the ’Buds’ 1.3.
In the second quarter, Dromana remained ahead of Rosebud by scoring a further 3.2 while Rosebud were only able to score 2.2, leaving Dromana ahead by ten points at the long break.
The ’Buds managed to claim the lead in the third after holding the Tigers to one point for the quarter while scoring 3.3 themselves.
In the final quarter, Dromana were able to score four points while Rosebud furthered their own score by 1.1.
The final result was Rosebud, 7.9 (51), beating Dromana, 5.8 (38), by 13 points.
As a result of the win, Rosebud have guaranteed their spot in the grand final.
Langwarrin managed to beat Mt Eliza in their finals clash.
The Kangaroos started the game in the lead, scoring 5.5 in the first quarter while the Redlegs trailed not far behind, scoring 4.2.
In the quarter before the long break, Langwarrin furthered their score by 4.5 while Mt Eliza scored 1.4, leaving Langwarrin ahead by 28 at half time.
In a shocking turn of events, the scores were even at three quarter time after Langwarrin scored 1.5 and Mt Eliza scored 6.3, placing both teams at 75 points.
Mt Eliza edged ahead by a point in the first minute of the final quarter, but Langwarrin slotted a goal in the fourth minute and the Redlegs never regained the lead.
Langwarrin managed to score 2.1 in the final term, while Mt Eliza scored 1.2. This resulted in Langwarrin, 12.16 (88), beating Mt Eliza, 12.11 (83), by five points.
As a result of this game, Langwarrin will take on Dromana next week in the preliminary final, fighting for a spot in the grand final, while Mt Eliza are eliminated for 2026.
MEN’S DIV TWO SEN
RED Hill put Frankston Bombers to the sword on Saturday (5 September), winning the preliminary final and booking their grand final spot.
Red Hill started the game strongly by scoring 3.3 in the first quarter while the Bombers only scored 1.2.
In the second quarter, the Bombers struggled to score, only scoring three single points while Red Hill furthered their score by 2.3, leaving Red Hill ahead by 25 points at the long break.
Red Hill continued to climb in the third quarter by scoring 2.5 while only allowing the Bombers to score 1.1.
In the final quarter of the game, the Bombers were able to score one more goal, taking their total to just three goals for the game.
At the other end, Red Hill put on another three for the quarter, cementing an easy win.
The final result was Red Hill, 10.13 (73), beating Frankston Bombers, 3.9 (27), by 46 points.
Red Hill will now take on Chelsea in the grand final at Kinetic Stadium on Sunday (13 September).
It will be a battle of first versus third, with Chelsea having the strongest regular season with 15 wins and three losses, compared to Red Hill’s 13 wins and five losses.
