On Sunday 23 August, Somerville Highway Patrol members detected 5 drink drivers in a single afternoon.
A 76 year old man from Point Leo, a 28 year old disqualified driver from Botanic Ridge, a 45 year old woman from Tootgarook, a 28 year old man from Cranbourne North and 55 year old man from Frankston who was also involved in a collision will all receive a licence loss for drink driving.
Police say that, with warmer weather approaching, the incident is a timely reminder that getting behind the wheel after a few drinks can have serious consequences and put lives at risk.
