SEVEN new homes in Hastings will soon offer safe, affordable housing for women and children experiencing housing insecurity, delivering long-term stability for some of the peninsula’s most vulnerable residents. VICTORIA’S largest co-operative housing provider says areas like the Mornington Peninsula are no longer immune from Australia’s worsening housing affordability crisis. Liz Thomas, managing director of Common Equity Housing Limited, visited Rosebud on 14 May to meet with local housing co-operatives and promote co-op housing as a long-term solution for renters struggling to secure affordable accommodation.
