Man dies in Baxter shooting

A 45-YEAR-OLD man arrested at the scene of a shooting fatality at Baxter on Saturday has been released pending further inquiries. He is believed to be known to the dead man.

Homicide squad detectives are awaiting the results of a post mortem into the death of the man found with a gunshot wound in the shed of a Station Crescent home about 11am, Saturday 16 September.

They are treating the man’s death as suspicious. He is yet to be formally identified.
