Changes to council meetings

MORNINGTON Peninsula Shire has moved the Tuesday 24 March community council meeting from Peninsula Community Theatre in Mornington to the Council Chambers at Rosebud.

The mayor Cr Sam Hearn said: “A live online stream that gives real time access to the meeting will be established and the community is being encouraged to access the meeting this way, and not to attend in person.

“This is one of a number of measures we are putting in place to protect our community in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus.”

Cr Hearn said he also encouraged people to check on the wellbeing of neighbours and to be pro-active to “help those around you in this challenging time”.

“This prudent approach to council meetings will remain in place until further notice and we will update our community as things unfold,” Cr Hearn said.

The live stream at mornpen.vic.gov.au/councilmeetings will be in place for the Monday 23 March Proposed 2020-21 Budget meeting, 7pm, Rosebud Chambers.

Questions from the public for the Tuesday 24 March council meeting can be submitted online at council.reports@mornpen.vic.gov.au
