MEN’S DIV ONE SEN
MORNINGTON grabbed an unexpected win against Frankston YCW in a see-sawing game on Saturday (11 July).
The Bulldogs came out firing in the first quarter, dominating the play and scoring 5.3 to the Stonecats’ 1.4.
In a turn of events, the Stonecats claimed the lead for themselves in the second quarter by holding the Bulldogs to a mere two points while scoring 4.7 themselves.
Mornington stole back the lead in the third quarter, scoring 3.1 to Frankston YCW’s 1.3.
In the final quarter, Mornington managed to score 1.2 to Frankston YCW’s 1.5, leaving Mornington to grab the win by a single point.
After a very close game, Rosebud secured a win against Devon Meadows, retaining their place on top of the ladder.
In the first quarter, both teams scored 3.1, leaving them tied on 19 points.
The Panthers flew into the lead in the second quarter, scoring 6.4 to the ’Buds 0.1 and leaving a 39 point gab between the teams.
In the third quarter, Rosebud locked Devon Meadows down and didn’t allow the latter to score while scoring 4.4 themselves.
Rosebud took the lead in the final quarter after scoring 3.2 to the Panthers’ 0.6, leaving Rosebud to win by three points.
Dromana’s home ground advantage helped them win in their game against Sorrento.
The Tigers pounced into the lead in the first quarter after scoring four more goals than the Sharks, leaving the Tigers on 33 points and the Sharks on nine points.
In the second quarter, Dromana scored one goal while Sorrento were able to score 2.5, leaving Dromana ahead by 13 points.
Dromana dominated the third quarter after scoring 10 goals to Sorrento’s one, creating a large gap between the teams.
The Sharks were unable to recover in the final quarter despite winning it, scoring 5.3 to the Tigers’ 4.2. When the final siren sounded, the Tigers had it by 61 points.
Despite having home ground advantage in their clash against Edi-Asp, Pines were not able to emerge with a win.
The Eagles took an early lead, scoring 3.1 to the Pythons’ 1.3.
In the quarter before the long break, Pines stole the lead from Edi-Asp, scoring 5.2 to Edi-Asp’s 1.4 and leading by 12.
The Pythons struggled to score in the third quarter, only managing to add one point to their total, while Edi-Asp took the lead once more after scoring 3.6.
Despite winning the fourth quarter by one point by scoring 2.4, Pines were not able to catch up to Edi-Asp’s total, allowing the latter to win by 10.
Mitchell Riggs scored two goals for Pines. Nathan Wright scored three goals for Edi-Asp.
Langwarrin secured a win against Mt Eliza in their home ground clash.
The Redlegs took control of the game in the first quarter after scoring 3.4 to the Kangaroos’ two goals.
In the quarter before he long break, Langwarrin claimed the lead, holding Mt Eliza to two points for the quarter while scoring 4.3 themselves, leaving them ahead by 15 points.
Although Langwarrin were unable to score at all in the third quarter, they still remained in the lead due to Mt Eliza’s scoring inaccuracy, with Mt Eliza scoring four minors.
In the final quarter, the Kangaroos added a further 1.6 to their score while the Redlegs scored 2.3, leaving the Kangaroos to win the game by eight points.
Matthew Johnson scored three goals for Langwarrin. Ziggy Toledo scored three goals for Mt Eliza.
Chelsea maintains the pressure while Somerville set to swoop
MEN’S DIV TWO SEN
CHELSEA grabbed the win over Seaford on Saturday to keep their top spot on the MPFNL Division Two Seniors ladder.
Seaford have had a strong 2026, with only three losses before Saturday.
Both teams had four shots through the sticks in the first quarter, with accuracy giving Chelsea an extra major and a five point lead at quarter time.
The Seagulls managed to pull away during the second quarter to take a ten point lead into the long break.
Chelsea came out firing in the third, pumping on five goals to one, to go into the final break with a 34-point lead. They then put on another 3.3 to 2.2 in the final to hold a 41-point lead at the final siren.
Jack Wallace was the highest goal kicker for Chelsea with three. Mitchell Harvey and Riley Harper got two each for Seaford.
Somerville are sitting second on the ladder after a hard-fought win over Red Hill.
The Eagles were quick out of the blocks in the first, but scoring 2.5 to 2.0, only had a five point lead at the first break.
Red Hill applied more pressure in the second, and inaccuracy cost Somerville. Red Hill slotted tow majors to one in the quarter, pulled level towards the end of the quarter and a point ahead with a point late in the quarter.
Somerville pushed back in front in the third, to take a three-point lead into the final quarter.
The final quarter wasn’t an easy task for Somerville, with Red Hill hitting the lead twice before the Eagles snatched it back. Somerville were four points up at the final siren.
Thomas Lewis was among the best for Red Hill with four goals, and Lachlan Sharp was among the best for Somerville, also with four goals.
Frankston Bombers took on bottom-of-the-table Tyabb, who were still winless for 2026.
The Bombers slammed on 7.3 to 3.1 in the first to take a 26-point lead into the first break.
Another four goals were to come in the second, while keeping the Yabbies scoreless, taking a 54-point lead into half time.
The Bombers didn’t let up in the third, kicking another six goals and holding Tyabb to a single major, and notching up an 85-point lead at the end of the quarter.
The Yabbies were kept scoreless in the final quarter while the Bombers slammed on another 8.4 to head to the showers with a 137 point win.
Pearcedale had a tight win over Karingal after an impressive second half comeback.
Karingal had a reasonable start in the first, kicking 2.1 to the Dales 1.3, to take a four point lead into the first break.
The Bulls hit the accelerator in the second, slotting six goals to two to take a 28-point lead into half time.
Pearcedale came out firing in the third, kicking six goals while holding Karingal goalless for the quarter, hitting the lead and taking an 11-point margin into the final break.
Both teams kicked two goals in the final, and Pearcedale held an eight point advantage at the final siren.
Callan Dixon kicked an impressive six goals for Karingal and Luke Daniel kicked four for Pearcedale.
Crib Point let a win slip by against Hastings after leading most of the day.
The Magpies got off to a strong start and held a seven-point lead at quarter time. Things got tighter in the second with Hastings hitting the lead in the 20th minute before Crib Point got their noses back in front at half time.
The Magpies held the lead for the entire third quarter, and a seven point margin at the final break.
Hastings slotted the first two goals of the final quarter and despite some see-sawing, held on for an eight-point win.
Bonbeach grabbed a gritty win over Rye.
Bonbeach got off to a strong start in the first putting on seven goals to three in the first, to take a 22-point lead into quarter time.
Rye kept Bonbeach goalless in the second and got four points ahead of the Demons at half time.
The Demons wouldn’t kick another goal for the rest of the game while Bonbeach slammed on five goals in the third for a 31-point lead at quarter time, and two goals in the final to end the game with a 40-point win.
Owen Everts kicked four goals for Bonbeach.

Dusties stamp their dominance as they bring Bulldogs to heel
WOMEN’S DIV ONE SEN
THE clash between the top two teams, Warragul and Mornington, resulted in the former remaining undefeated and on top of the ladder.
The Dusties took the lead in the first quarter, scoring 2.1 to the Bulldogs’ 0.1.
In the quarter before the long break, the Dusties’ score continued to climb, reaching 39 points while the Bulldogs only managed to get eight points.
The Bulldogs won the third quarter, stopping the Dusties from scoring entirely while scoring 2.1 themselves, leaving them a mere 18 points behind their competition.
In the final quarter, the Dusties managed to score 1.1 to the Bulldogs’ 1.0, leaving the Dusties to win the game by 19-points. Mornington’s loss hasn’t seen them slip from second spot, though, as they hold on by percentage to Karingal.
Speaking of which, Karingal’s home ground advantage allowed them to emerge victorious from their clash with Pearcedale.
The Bulls came into the game with a desire to win after their loss the previous week, and started the game with four goals in the first quarter, while the Panthers only scored a single point.
Pearcedale scored their first goal of the game in the second, placing them at eight points and Karingal at 33, leaving the Panthers trailing by 25.
In the third, the Panthers were unable to score at all while the Bulls added another 1.1 to their total.
The game concluded with Pearcedale scoring one final goal to Karingal’s 1.2, leaving the latter ahead by 34 points and securing their win.
Hastings/Balnarring secured a win against Bonbeach.
The game started out slowly, with neither team scoring at all in the first.
In the second quarter, Bonbeach scored the first goal of the game, scoring 1.1 to Hastings/Balnarring’s 0.2 and leading by five points.
Bonbeach was unable to score in the third quarter, while Hastings/Balnarring finally took the lead after scoring one goal.
In the final quarter, each team scored 1.1, which landed Hastings/Balnarring at 15 points, allowing them to win the game by a single point.
