THE WPW26 Literary Festival is coming soon. Tickets are on sale and they are going quickly. So book early!
The festival is based at Coolart Wetlands & Homestead in Somers. On Saturday and Sunday, attend author conversations, writers’ panels, book readings and signings, and children’s events and meet exceptional authors and presenters.
On Saturday 10 October, enjoy sessions on nature with Kylie Soanes, Josh Neille, Chris Flynn and Tracee Hutchison; gardens with Jac Semmler, Caroline Parker and Michael McCoy; a warm conversation between Kylie Moore-Gilbert, Sami Shah and Belinda Hawkins; and dive into the state of politics with Tony Barry, Sumeyya Ilanbey, Paul Strangio and Gay Alcorn. Then join us after for refreshments and book chat.
Sunday 11 October kicks off with Garry Disher, Victoria Brownlee and Mate Antolos exploring the scene of the crime, with Irma Gold; Jacinta Parsons in conversation with Kate Mildenhall, Kate Legge and Lisa Moule on the ages of women; a discussion on ancient indigenous knowledge and how to share it in a changing world, with Tyson Yunkaporta, Claire G. Coleman and Shelley Ware; and acclaimed writers, Melissa Manning, Michael Winkler and Claire Thomas in conversation with Angela Savage, on the stories behind their novels.
Music: On Saturday, hear guitarist Nick Charles playing from 12pm to 1.30pm – come along, bring a blanket and listen to beautiful music. Enjoy plein-air painters in the gardens.
Kids: On Sunday, book the kids into a free lunchtime Children’s panel with Andrea Rowe, Sheila Knaggs and Toni D’Alia. Meet the Story Dogs and watch for Faery Emily visiting the Coolart grounds for face sprinkles and fun.
