AS part of CFA’s Get Fire Ready campaign, Mount Martha Fire Brigade is inviting residents to attend a Get Fire Ready event at Mount Martha Fire Station (6 Latrobe Drive, Mount Martha) on Sunday 18th October between 10am and 1pm to learn practical steps to help protect their homes, families, and properties.
Community members can speak directly with CFA volunteers about:
- their local fire risks
- creating or updating a fire plan
- preparing their property before summer
- setting up the VicEmergency app and watch zones.
Mount Martha Fire Brigade will have a range of information available, along with a free sausage sizzle.
Mount Martha Fire Brigade’s Captain, Brandon Crowder, is encouraging the local community to come along, have a chat with local volunteers and learn how a few simple actions now can help them feel more prepared and confident ahead of summer.
“We want people to understand the fire risk that exists in our area and what they can do now to be better prepared before summer,” said Brandon.
“This Get Fire Ready event is about helping local residents understand their risks and take action to become better prepared before summer.”
Those interested in joining the brigade, or wanting to learn more about volunteering, can contact the brigade at mtmartha.bmt@cfa.vic.gov.au or visit: cfa.vic.gov.au/volunteer
