Get ready to tee off for a great cause on Friday, November 21 at Mornington Golf Club. The annual SMART Business Solutions Charity Golf Day aims to raise vital funds for Mental Health Safety Net (MHSN) to facilitate early-intervention mental health programs workshops across the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston and Casey LGAs.

All proceeds from the Golf Day will deliver free safeTALK sessions for local secondary schools and community groups, ensuring that more young people and community members have access to this critical education. These lifesaving workshops equip people, from students to business owners, with the skills to recognise when someone may be struggling with poor mental health and the confidence to intervene.

“The funds raised from this event enable us to keep the promise that all local public schools receive this life saving program for free,” MHSN CEO and founder Mick Simmons said. “We’ve educated nearly 3500 Year 10 students in 11 high schools. Education is the way our younger generation learns how best to deal with someone struggling with mental health issues.” MHSN’s three-hour workshops are open to anyone aged 15 and older, empowering participants to notice warning signs, ask direct questions, and connect those in need to the proper resources for help.

Through education and early intervention, MHSN’s mission is to reduce suicides in our community by embedding mental health awareness in schools, workplaces, sporting clubs and community groups.
For businesses, the benefits of supporting mental health education go far beyond goodwill. Creating safe, compassionate workplaces not only improves well-being but also enhances teamwork, engagement and productivity.

This year, the impact of every dollar raised will be doubled, thanks to SMART Business Solutions and the Count Charitable Foundation, who will match funds raised, up to $20,000. “At SMART Business Solutions, community is at the heart of everything we do,” founding director Shannon Smit said. “By supporting Mental Health Safety Net, we’re helping to strengthen our community and ensuring that suicide prevention education reaches those who need it most.”

The day promises plenty of fun and friendly competition with a shotgun start and Ambrose format for golfers of all abilities. Participants will enjoy a Rotary Mount Martha BBQ breakfast, drinks on the course, a plated lunch, and a gift bag filled with goodies including caps, balls, tees, and a drink bottle. There’ll also be fantastic prizes and auction items up for grabs, generously donated by local businesses.

MHSN extends its heartfelt thanks to SMART Business Solutions, Count Charitable Foundation, Community Bank Mount Martha, and all sponsors and supporters whose contributions make this event possible. So gather your friends, clients, or colleagues and register today at mhsngolf2025.raiselysite.com. Sign up as an individual or bring a team of four. Let’s come together for mental health and make every swing count!
