RYE Community House will again host its Art and Craft Show from 6–8 November. The exhibition will showcase paintings, drawings, sculptures, practical art and other creative works by local artists. Works will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting an upgrade to the Rye Community Childcare outdoor space. Childcare Cookbooks will also be sold to raise funds.
Manager Wendy Hiam said, “The Art and Craft Show is a true community collaboration, supported by Bendigo Bank, Community Bank Southern Peninsula, local artists, and artwork from students at Rye Primary School and Rye Pre-School. The launch night will feature refreshments, finger food and entertainment, along with a raffle and silent auction. Prizes have been donated by local businesses, including Stockdale & Leggo Rye, Underground Wines, Rye Newsagency, Prentice Real Estate, Rye Health Foods, Rye RSL, IGA, the Rye Hotel and Little Shop of Shoes. Underground Winery is also supplying wine for the opening night. Bottles will be available for purchase, with commission supporting the childcare outdoor-space upgrade.”
Admission is $5 for adults, and everyone is welcome. Visitors can admire the talent of our local community and vote for their favourite artwork.
