Langwarrin suffer first loss of the season

MEN’S DIV ONE SEN

LANGWARRIN lost their spot on top of the ladder after obtaining their first loss of the season at the hands of Frankston YCW.

Langwarrin took an early lead, winning the first quarter after scoring 4.5 to Frankston YCW’s 2.3.

The second quarter saw the teams nearly even with Frankston YCW in the front, with only two points separating the teams.

The Stonecats pulled ahead in the third quarter, scoring 6.5 to Langwarrin’s 2.3.

In the final quarter, Langwarrin nearly caught up to Frankston YCW as the latter did not manage to hit the scoreboard at all. Langwarrin came painfully close but fell two points short, handing Frankston YCW the win.

Harry Lloyd scored five goals for Frankston YCW. Matthew Johnson scored three goals for Langwarrin.

Devon Meadows secured a win against Pines.

Pines came out of the first quarter strongly, scoring 3.4 to Devon Meadows’ 1.1.

In the second quarter, Devon Meadows stole the lead after scoring 7.7 to Pines 2.1.

Devon Meadows remained ahead in the third quarter despite only scoring one goal to Pines’ two.

In the final quarter, Devon Meadows continued to pull ahead, securing a win after scoring six goals in the quarter and leaving a 14-point difference between themselves and Pines.

Hamish Roy scored four goals for Pines. Hugo Birks scored four goals for Devon Meadows.

After leading the whole game, Dromana took a win against Mt Eliza.

Dromana came into the game strongly, scoring five goals in the first quarter to Mt Eliza’s three.

The second quarter saw Dromana score four more goals and sit 17 points above Mt Eliza.

In the third, Dromana continued to fly ahead, scoring 3.1 to Mt Eliza’s 2.3.

Dromana stayed ahead in the fourth and final quarter after scoring another four goals, and came out on top by 28 points.

Sam Fowler scored four goals for Dromana and was among their best. Alfie Lambert scored two goals for Mt Eliza and was among their best.

Sorrento was able to secure their first win of the 2026 season after beating Edi-Asp.

In the first quarter, Sorrento flew ahead immediately, scoring 4.6 to Edi-Asp’s 1.3.

Both teams scored fairly similarly in the second quarter, each scoring four goals and leaving Sorrento ahead.

Edi-Asp nearly caught up to Sorrento in the third quarter after scoring 4.7 to Sorrento’s 2.2, but Sorrento remained ahead by two points.

Sorrento pulled away in the final quarter after scoring 7.5 to Edi-Asp’s 2.5, giving Sorrento a 32-point win.

Kyle Halligan scored a massive six goals for Sorrento and was among their best. Brad Frater scored three goals for Edi-Asp and was among their best.

Mornington stood no chance against Rosebud, handing the ladder leaders another win for the season.

Rosebud came out of the gates strongly, tripling Mornington’s score after scoring 3.3 to Mornington’s 1.1.

In the quarter before the long break, Rosebud managed to maintain a 20 point lead after scoring four goals to Mornington’s three.

Rosebud continued to dominate the field in the third quarter, scoring five goals to Mornington’s three.

Mornington only managed to score one point in the final quarter while Rosebud scored 5.1, leaving Rosebud to win by 68 points.


MEN’S DIV TWO SEN

PEARCEDALE was able to secure a win against Bonbeach in the MPFNL Men’s Division Two clash.

The scores were very close at the end of the first quarter, with Pearcedale scoring 1.3 and Bonbeach scoring 1.2.

In the second, Pearcedale started to pull ahead, scoring four goals to Bonbeach’s one and leading by 21 points.

Bonbeach played well in the third quarter scoring 4.5 to Pearcedale’s 3.0 and leaving the teams with only a ten point difference.

Pearcedale were able to cement their win in the last quarter after scoring 4.4 to Bonbeach’s 1.4, securing their 28 point win.

Home ground advantage came into play in Chelsea’s win against Hastings.

One point separated the teams at the end of the first quarter after Chelsea scored 4.2 to Hastings’ 4.3.

Chelsea pulled ahead in the second quarter after scoring 7.5 to Hastings’ 2.2, leaving a 32-point gap between the teams going into the long break.

Both teams kept building up their scores in the third quarter, with Hastings scoring two goals and Chelsea scoring three.

Hastings was unable to catch up with Chelsea after Chelsea scored nine goals in the final quarter to Hastings’ three, allowing Chelsea to win by 75 points.

Crib Point secured a win against Karingal.

Crib Point came out of the gates strongly, scoring 7.2 to Karingal’s 2.1.

In the quarter before the long break, Crib Point was up by 45 points after managing to score 71 points in the first half.

Both teams scored 2.3 in the third quarter.

Crib Point was able to maintain their lead in the final quarter after scoring 5.1 to Karingal’s 4.0, and Crib Point took a 52 point win.

Somerville took a win against Rye.

Rye was unable to score at all in the first quarter while Somerville managed to score 5.4.

The quarter before the long break saw Rye score three points while Somerville added a further 4.3 to their score, leaving them to lead by 58 points.

Rye finally picked up their game in the third quarter, scoring 5.4 to Somerville’s 2.2.

Despite only scoring four points in the final quarter, Somerville was able to win by 31 points.

Tyabb suffered their eighth loss of the season at the hands of Seaford, and remain winless for the 2026 season.

In the first quarter, Seaford scored 3.3 to Tyabb’s 2.2.

Tyabb was unable to score in the second quarter while Seaford scored 4.3, leaving a 34 point gap between the teams.

Seaford continued to pull ahead in the third quarter, scoring 3.5 to Tyabb’s 2.1.

In the final quarter, Tyabb was only able to score one goal while Seaford scored 2.4, securing Seaford’s win by 54 points.

Red Hill was able to grab the win after a close game against Frankston Bombers.

In the first quarter, Red Hill scored 2.2 to Frankston Bombers’ 1.2.

Frankston Bombers had a good comeback in the quarter before the long break, scoring three goals to Red Hill’s two and only being behind by three points.

The scores remained very close in the third quarter with both teams scoring two goals and Red Hill leading by four points.

In the final quarter, Red Hill scored 3.3 to Frankston Bombers’ 2.5, leaving Red Hill to win by eight points.

WOMEN’S DIV ONE SEN

WARRAGUL Industrials remain on top of the MPFNL Women’s Division One Seniors ladder after walking in a win against Mornington.

In the first quarter, Warragul industrials scored 2.1 to Mornington’s 0.1.

Both teams scored one point in the second quarter, leaving a 12 point gap between the teams going into the long break.

Mornington won the third quarter, scoring two goals to the Dusties’ one, leaving an eight point difference.

Warragul came back strongly in the final quarter, keeping Mornington scoreless while scoring five goals of their own, leaving Warragul to win by 42 points.

Despite the result, Mornington Women’s football director Harvey White was pleased with the effort shown by his side.

“We were very under-strength, with a number of injuries and unavailable players, but the girls competed really well,” said White.

“We had several players step up from our reserves team and they embraced the opportunity. Their effort and willingness to take on bigger roles was outstanding.

“One of the real positives for us was the depth we were able to showcase. The players coming through proved they’re capable of contributing at senior level, which is a great sign for the future of our program.”

Hastings/Balnarring was able to secure a win against Bonbeach.

In the first quarter, Hastings/Balnarring scored 2.6 to Bonbeach’s 1.0, separating the teams by 12 points.

Bonbeach only scored one goal in the quarter before the long break while Hastings/Balnarring scored three, putting Hastings/Balnarring ahead by 26 points.

Hastings/Balnarring began to pull away from Bonbeach in the third quarter after scoring four goals to Bonbeach’s one.

Both teams scored 2.2 in the final quarter, allowing Hastings/Balnarring to win by 43 points.

Frankston was able to secure a fairly easy win over Tyabb.

In quarter one, Tyabb scored 1.1 to Frankston’s 4.1, separating the teams by 18 points.

Tyabb was unable to score in the second quarter while Frankston scored a further 3.4, leaving Frankston ahead by 40 points.

Frankston scored a further two goals in the third quarter while Tyabb managed to score another point.

In the final quarter, Frankston scored one final goal while Tyabb only managed another point, leaving Frankston to win by 59 points.

Kayla Lock scored one goal for Tyabb and was among their best. Adele Kerley scored three goals for Frankston and was among their best.

Karingal had an 100 point win against Pearcedale despite the game being held at Pearcedale’s home ground.

Pearcedale was unable to score in the first quarter while Karingal put up 37 points.

In the quarter before the long break, Pearcedale scored 1.1 to Karingal’s 3.0, leaving Karingal up by 48.

Karingal kept Pearcedale scoreless in the third quarter while scoring 3.3 themselves.

In the final quarter, Pearcedale only managed a solitary point, while Karingal scored 5.2, leaving Karingal to win by 100 points.

Indianna Amoruso scored one goal for Pearcedale. Kiara Triep scored four goals for Karingal.
