A FREE winter event promising fire, food and live entertainment is coming to Frankston Waterfront on Saturday 13 June, with the inaugural Frankston Fire Festival running from 4-8:30pm.
Festivalgoers can gather around fire pits, enjoy boutique market stalls and warm up with flame-cooked food, mulled beverages and winter comfort food from a range of local vendors.
As the sun sets, the event will culminate in the lighting of a monumental fire sculpture created by Pyromancer and Co, alongside roving fire performers and live ice sculpting by internationally renowned artist Kevin Kapusi-Starow.
State of Nirvana saunas will also be on-site for those looking to fully embrace the winter chill.
The live music program features ARIA Award-winning band Collard Greens and Gravy, alongside CJ Commerford & The Supertones, Jesse Valach & The Testaments, and Hand Over Hammer, delivering a selection of blues, soul and folk.
The festival is expected to draw around 4,000 visitors.
“Winter is traditionally a quieter time, but the Fire Festival is about bringing Frankston City to life even during the cooler months,” said mayor Cr Sue Baker.
“By creating experiences like this, we’re giving people more reasons to get out, explore and enjoy everything our city has to offer year-round.”
Councillor Steffie Conroy said the event was designed to bring people together.
“There’s something special about gathering around a fire – sharing food, music and moments,” said Cr Conroy. “We want people to slow down, stay awhile and experience our city at its cosy, vibrant best.”
The Frankston Fire Festival is the final event in council’s 2025-26 Destination Event Attraction Program, which Frankston Council estimates attracted more than 48,337 visitors and generated an estimated $3.9 million in economic impact across the year.
