Rosebud scrape through after close call

MEN’S DIV ONE SEN

ROSEBUD were able to maintain their spot on top of the ladder despite a very close game against Dromana.

In the first quarter, Rosebud took the lead, scoring 3.1 to Dromana’s 2.2.

Dromana were able to claim the lead in the second quarter after scoring 4.3 to Rosebud’s 1.1, leading by 15 points and the long break.

In the third, Dromana scored three points to Rosebud’s 2.3, leaving Dromana ahead by only three points.

Rosebud were able to come back in the final quarter by scoring 2.1 to Dromana’s 1.1, leaving Rosebud to win by only three points.

Kirk Dickson scored three goals for Rosebud. Ethan Johnstone scored two goals for Dromana.

Edithvale-Aspendale’s home ground advantage was to no use to them, as Devon Meadows were still able to clinch the win in their clash.

Devon Meadows began the game strongly, scoring 4.2 in the first quarter to Edi-Asp’s 2.4.

In the quarter before the long break, Edi-Asp were able to score 2.2 to Devon Meadows’ 5.2, leaving the latter ahead by 28 points.

In the third quarter, each team scored five goals, leaving Devon Meadows still comfortably ahead.

Edi-Asp won the final quarter of the game, but it was not enough to push them into the lead, as Edi-Asp scored 7.2 to Devon Meadows’ 3.4, leaving Devon Meadows to win by seven points.

Liam Hiscock scored four goals for Edi-Asp and was among their best. Patrick Sinnema was able to score five goals for Devon Meadows and was among their best.

Frankston YCW were able to secure an easy win against Pines.

The scores were close in the first quarter, with Frankston YCW scoring 3.3 and Pines scoring 3.1.

The two point difference remained at the end of the second quarter due to Pines’ scoring inaccuracy, with Pines scored 1.6 to Frankston YCW’s 2.0.

The Stonecats began to fly ahead in the third quarter, scoring 4.1 to Pines’ 1.2.

In the final quarter, Frankston YCW scored 6.6 while Pines only managed to score 1.1, leaving Frankston YCW to win by 54 points.

Langwarrin maintain their spot at second on the ladder after their win against Sorrento.

In the first quarter, Langwarrin scored 6.3 to Sorrento’s 3.2.

Sorrento struggled to score in the second quarter, managing only 1.3 to Langwarrin’s 4.4 and leaving Langwarrin ahead by 38 points.

In the third quarter, Langwarrin continued to pull ahead, scoring 5.4 to Sorrento’s 3.2.

Langwarrin created an impossible gap in the final quarter after scoring 9.4 to Sorrento’s 2.1, winning by 97 points.

Kyle Halligan was able to score three goals for Sorrento. Matthew Johnson scored an impressive seven goals for Langwarrin.

Mt Eliza was able to secure an easy win against Mornington.

In the first quarter, Mt Eliza nearly doubled Mornington’s score after notching up 4.2 to Mornington’s 2.2.

Mt Eliza continued to climb in the quarter before the long break, scoring 2.4 to Mornington’s 1.3 and leaving a 19 point gap between the teams.

In the third quarter, Mornington scored 1.1 to Mt Eliza’s 4.3.

Mt Eliza pulled away in the final quarter after scoring 8.1 to Mornington’s 3.2, leaving Mt Eliza to win by 68 points.


MEN’S DIV TWO SEN

CHELSEA remains on top of the Division Two Seniors Men’s ladder after their win against Karingal.

Chelsea took an early lead after scoring 8.4 in the first quarter to Karingal’s 0.3.

In the second, Chelsea continued to climb after scoring 4.3, while Karingal only managed to score 2.1, leaving the teams separated by 63 points.

Karingal managed to win the third quarter by scoring 4.2 to Chelsea’s 3.4, but Chelsea remained well in the lead.

In the final quarter, Chelsea scored a further 4.2 to Karingal’s 4.1, leaving Chelsea to win by 60 points.

Red Hill used their home ground advantage to help them win against Bonbeach.

There was minimal scoring in the first quarter, with Red Hill scoring 1.4 and Bonbeach scoring 1.1.

Red Hill hit the pedal in the second quarter, scoring 6.2 to Bonbeach’s 3.1, leaving a 22 point gap going into the long break.

The scores were tied up in the third quarter, with both teams landing on 51 points after Red Hill struggled to score.

In the final quarter, Red Hill managed to score 1.7 to Bonbeach’s 1.1, leaving Red Hill to win by six points.

Frankston Bombers were able to claim a win against Crib Point.

In the first quarter, Frankston Bombers took a two goal lead after scoring 5.2 to Crib Point’s 3.2.

The Magpies struggled to score in the second, only managing one point while the Bombers scored a further 3.2.

In the third quarter, Crib Point scored 1.3 to the Bombers’ 4.5.

The Bombers pulled away in the final quarter, scoring 5.6 to Crib Point’s 4.3, leaving the Bombers to win by 60 points.

Archie Shepherd scored four goals for Crib Point. Matt Robinson scored six goals for Frankston Bombers.

Somerville secured an expected win against Hastings.

In the first quarter, Hastings scored one goal to Somerville’s 2.3.

Somerville began to get ahead in the second quarter, scoring 3.3 to Hastings’ 1.2 and leaving Somerville to lead by 22 points at the long break.

In the third quarter, Hastings scored 2.4 to Somerville’s 2.3, clawing back the margin by a single point.

The Blues came out swinging in the final term, slotting 4.2 to Somerville’s 3.3 to win the term, but it wasn’t enough to win the match. At the final siren, Somerville still held a 16-point lead.

Pearcedale were untroubled by Tyabb, putting the Yabbies to the sword.

In a blistering opening quarter, Pearcedale smashed on 8.5 to Tyabb’s 1.3 to hold a 44-point lead at the first break.

Another 7.5 to two straight goals in the second quarter saw Pearcedale take a 79-point lead into the long break.

The pedal eased off in the third, with Pearcedale adding 4.3 to Tyabb’s 3.4.

More pressure was applied in the final term with another five goals to a solitary major to Tyabb.

Pearcedale hit the showers having notched up a 110-point win.

Not to be outdone in the shellacking stakes, Seaford Tigers performed an exorcism on the Rye Demons to walk away with a 120-point win.

The first quarter saw Seaford take an early lead with 3.8 to 1.1 in their favour.

In the second, Seaford continued to apply pressure on Rye, limiting them to a single goal while adding 4.8 themselves.

Seaford must have busted out the Holy Water at the long break, as they came out and thumped the Demons in the third.

Seaford smashed on 9.4 to Rye’s 1.2, to establish a 95-point buffer at three-quarter time.

Seaford didn’t let up in the final term, putting on another 4.9 to 1.2 to lock up their 120-point win.

Archie Hough and Hugh Park kicked four goals each for Seaford, and Riley Harper managed three.

WOMEN’S DIV ONE SEN

THE second and third place teams, Mornington and Karingal, clashed on the weekend, resulting in a win for Mornington.

The Bulldogs girls were able to keep Karingal scoreless for the first half, scoring 4.3 in the first quarter.

In the quarter before the long break, Mornington scored a further 1.4, placing them at a 37-point advantage.

In the third quarter, Karingal scored 0.1 to Mornington’s 2.1, separating the teams by 49 points.

Despite winning the final quarter, Karingal were unable to take the lead, scoring 2.1 to Mornington’s 1.2 and allowing Mornington to win by 44 points.

Warragul Industrials remain on top of the ladder after a smashing win against Bonbeach

The Dusties managed to score 34 points in the first quarter while keeping Bonbeach scoreless.

In the second quarter, Bonbeach were still unable to score while Warragul Industrials scored 8.4, leaving a 86 point gap between the teams at the long break.

Bonbeach were able to score one point in the third quarter, but Warragul kept climbing, scoring a further 5.6.

In the final quarter, Warragul scored 6.4, leaving them to win by 161 points.

Pearcedale came out on top in their clash against Tyabb.

Pearcedale took the lead in the first quarter by scoring 1.3 to Tyabb’s 1.0.

In the second, Tyabb were able to score one point while Pearcedale scored 1.1, leaving nine points between the teams.

Tyabb mounted a comeback in the third quarter, scoring two goals to Pearcedale’s one and only trailing Pearcedale by three points.

In the final quarter, Tyabb scored 1.1 to Pearcedale’s 2.2, leaving Pearcedale to win by ten points.
