The Hill & Ridge Community Market is returning after its annual hibernation, with armfuls of great local produce, swags of delicious street food and a hand-picked collection of art and craft from local artists and makers. Red Hill’s much-loved market kicks off a new season on Saturday 5 September at the Red Hill Recreation Reserve, with great prizes up for grabs.
With more than 200 stalls gathered around Red Hill’s hilltop sports ground and showground, the Hill & Ridge Community Market is a place to shop, eat, caffeinate and simply enjoy rubbing shoulders with the locals.
Community is at the heart of every Hill & Ridge market day. Start with an egg and bacon roll served up by the Red Hill Tennis Club, or stop for a scone and a cuppa with the Red Hill Scouts. On the gate, the Red Hill Lions Club keeps the parking flowing, with every cent of the $5 parking donation supporting its work in the local community.
There are plants and seeds for the spring garden and armfuls of fresh-cut local flowers. Hunt for a vintage treasure or seek out garden obelisks crafted in Shoreham. Red Hill’s Craft Pavilion becomes a gallery-shed, showcasing selected works by talented members of the Red Hill Artists Collective.
Add live music from The Warrains, good coffee, freshly baked treats and friendly dogs, and you’ve got all the makings of a great spring day out.
Come to the Hill & Ridge Community Market and you could win a Truffle Hunt for Two at Red Hill Truffles, valued at more than $400. Simply visit the Market staff beside the live music in the MP Paddock and fill out an entry form before 11am sharp. Also up for grabs is a $200 hamper brimming with local produce, from apple juice to olive oil. Thanks to our partners Mornington Peninsula Produce (MPP), a $200 local produce hamper will be offered as a door prize at every market this season, from September to May.
